Adrian Peterson at the Combine yesterday recorded a 38" vertical and a 4.38 40-yard dash. No way he'll be on the board at #8. What should the Texans do? What they always do and draft an offensive lineman? Or gut up and trade David Carr and the #8 pick to the Browns for #3? Or something else?

Were you being sarcastic about the Texans drafting o-linemen? Cause I don't reccollect them drafting any first round hogs of late.
I still say it's too late to bail on Carr. Go out and sign 1-2 top dollar linemen and then draft another 1-2. Petersen has to be a buyer beware situation. The guy will be injured after week 3 of every year anyway. No doubt he is a stud muffin on the field, but the risks are pretty high.
I was being sarcastic. The Texans have more gaping holes than the offensive line, but that's hardly the point for the front office. How do you mean it's too late? In that the Texans will get 30 cents on the dollar for him? Because I agree with that.
Peterson does run hard, and rookies who run too hard end up on Injured Reserve, but you can't give the ball to Wali Lundy and Ron Dayne every down.
I guess I'm just tired of seeing Carr go 13/41 for 102 yards and three picks. But at least we don't have to get all nervous about the playoffs like the Astros...
I meant too early. Call me crazy, but I still like him. When you throw off your back foot on every other down your accuracy tends to drop. Then on the other downs when you are not having to throw off your back foot, you tend to expect pressure and throw off your back foot anyway. So I STILL say that a consistently good offensive line may work wonders for his accuracy. Or they may have already shell shocked Carr into ruin.
