Need some help

So I've figured some things out about my iPod. I was never much on playlists. But then I figured out that I could put the songs in genres and shuffle the songs by playlist and have the greatest radio stations ever. But I've been thinking about why I like the songs I like. I do have my 50 favorite songs right now and I've been thinking about why these are in my Top 50. Can you find the common thread...
