It's the only sport where the field gets more beautiful with each and every game. It's the only sport a president begged the commissioner to keep playing in a time of war. It's the only sport that emphasizes the team, while counting on each person equally. It's the only sport that ebbs and flows like life, allowing and accepting slumps and losing streaks are going to happen. It's the only sport where errors and miscues are subjective, where the scorekeeper can wipe mistakes off of the record books forever. It's the only sport that glorifies those who succeed 30% of the time. It's the only sport that has had seven different champions in the last seven years.
It's baseball. And it starts tonight.

My sister in law is a huge rangers fan and when I asked her if she was going to opening day she said "no" that she would probably not really be able to go until early may.
I told her she might want to rethink that as I am pretty sure the Rangers will be eliminated from playoff contention by then.
If the Twins can get even AVERAGE pitching out of starting pitchers 2-5 with their bullpen and incredible hitters this could be our year. Yeah and Kenny Rogers injury helps a little too.
they should have had you with opening credits Sunday night for the mets-cardinals game...that was quite a speech you just delivered.
And it's the only sport that is so friggin' long. Call me when it's pennant race time in September, or when Barry Bonds breaks the record. I'll put on sackcloth and pour ashes on my head. How's that for a Lent reference? Long live Hank Aaron!
James, how you been? Hope things are starting to warm up in New York. I've been out of the blogging for so long, I might as well start over. Soon as school finishes in the next month. This week, I'm busy with Comps finals.
