Bad news, officiating-wise

Remember when OU got scrizzled by the officials in the Oregon game a few years ago? I didn't see the game, because we were in the car, but we did listen to some of it. But we missed the part where officials erroneously gave possession of an onside kick to Oregon. We missed it live, anyway, because faithful reader (and my b-i-l) Roy called us on the phone all breathless and squeaky.

Well, it's not like Pac-1 (not a typo) officiating has gotten any better (see: BYU-Washington). It's the rule of our society, if at first you're completely incompetent, a promotion is soon to come. The crew chief for the OU-Oregon game, Dave Cutaia, is now the head of officiating in the Pac-1. Cutaia and other officials that game were suspended and the replay official retired and never came back. Good progress report...
