CNN is predicting an extremely tight race, including a segment from last night's Situation Room in which a considerable amount of time was spent breaking down what happens if there's a tie in the Electoral College.
Fox News is all about the drama on their website as well.
But Karl Rove is predicting a landslide. The pretty-incredible blog 538 is also predicting a heavy win for Obama.
What's the story?
All networks need a tight race so that you're not watching That 70's Show by 10pm. Drama has to be created so that you'll stay up all night, like I did in 2000, to see who will be the new president. How late will you stay up?

Yep. I remember the 2000 election. I think it was snowing that night in good ole A-town.
I wouldn't be surprised if there was no winner tonight.
I think it will be clear pretty early what's going to happen. Obama only needs to pick up one or two swing states to win the election. Most of those swing states are on the East coast so we should know pretty Early whats going to happen. I'd like to say I'll turn it off at 10 or 11, but likely will continue watching. The senate races should actually be what keeps me watching as a filibuster proof congress with Obama as president will be very interesting.
I agree - I think we'll know something by 11pm.
And it was freezing in Abilene that night in 2000. I was an RA in McKenzie Dorm and did not go to bed. I had Dr. Peppers on the AC Unit outside, because my fridge had gone out, and they were still cold.
I was a senior in high school. I stayed up until about 4. We watched coverage in goverment class the next day. Crazy stuff.
I'm with you. CNN just wants you to stay glued to the tube all night. I'll still watch, but I predict a winner by 11 or 12 EST.
