On loss, and the national champsionship.

Loss is a part of everybody's life, it's the concluding scene in everyone's existence. I realize how over-dramatic that is, but it's true (partially why I philosophically enjoy baseball more than any other sport) in college football.

Let's be clear, Texas did not play well. At all. They didn't show up in the 1st quarter, couldn't run the ball all night long, and couldn't play defense when it mattered (oh Blake Gideon, if only...). My experiment with loyalty is officially over. I was just completely devastated last night, until I fell asleep, and now I'm just mad, but I can't deny how I wanted to cause damage to any and all inanimate objects around me.

As I saw Red Raider fans getting their guns up and storming the field, I swear my blood pressure was 220 over 170. My pulse was 140. It was 23 degrees outside and I didn't put a coat on, as I took my faithful beasts out immediately following the game in order to not show my wife a side of me that does not make an appearance too often, and of whom I am not proud.

I hate it when Texas loses. If anyone asks me about the game at work (some of you are allowed, because we have a history), I might punch them in the face.

I'm happy when OU wins, happier when Texas wins, and happiest when Texas beats OU. I want OU to go 11-1 every year. I just happen to want Texas to go 12-0. And A&M to go 1-11 (beating Texas Tech).

You can't reasonably place USC ahead of Texas in the poll. USC has played high school teams, except for a good win against Ohio State and a demolition of Oregon. And I'm serious about high school teams - go back and see how many Pac-10 teams are starting true freshmen. Texas has played Top-11 teams in each of the last four weeks. Not counting bowl games, you have to go back to November 25, 2006 for USC to play four Top-11 teams.

And yes, I know this is the anger talking.

Texas will still have a shot. I am not sure if they fall below Oklahoma. We'll wait and see. They should fall behind Tech. The Big 12 is just loaded this year. A very good team will be left out of the BCS from the Big 12 this year.

Only in the BCS can you beat the crap out of your opponent and drop 2 spots in the poll.

($#&#^%@#.

And I was rooting for Texas. I freakin hate Tech more than any other team on the planet. They cheat.
